Some pages for Nathaniel's Baby Album

I know, he'll be SEVEN in 6 months, but I still have hardly any of his baby pages done. I had most of Joshua's first year done by the time he was 3 1/2 and I didn't start scrapbooking until he was 18 months old...Nathaniel, I've been scrapping his whole life. But a month after he turned 3, Grace was born. So yes, he's the shafted middle child. But, it's not all bad, I've got a lot more cooler stuff to work with to do his pages that I didn't have when I did Joshua's (Cricut, Cuttlebug, etc.) so I'm having fun doing his pages. The majority of these pages I did at the end of July at a crop in Davis that I got to go to when we were down on vacation - all they needed was titles and journaling and just one little thing to dress them up (brads or a Cricut creature or something).



This is some old paper - can't remember where it came from, but I bought it when I did Joshua's baby pages. The brads I've had for ever also - pre-N. This is two-sided paper.
I trimmed, with my trusty (not rusty) Exacto knife, around the sailboat and star on the picture in the upper right. That made for careful placement of the picture on the other side of the paper...I also strategically place these pictures on this side so certain words & phrases were visible. Glad I don't do that a lot because it is stressful :)

This is the other side of the top page...again I cut around one part just a little bit. I used my Cricut and new Create a Critter 2 cartridge on this (we called Nathaniel froggy because of the way he would pull his legs up to his chest). I also used my Cuttlebug to dress up the journaling box a little...if I'm remembering correctly, the border I used is from a set entitled, NATHANIEL'S PENWORK - appropriate, I thought.

I LOVE this paper - don't remember who it is made by, but I got it at either Michaels or Jo-Anns :) It is "younger" than Nathaniel ;). The star brads are from Jo-Anns and the journaling block is from CM. The CS is Bazzill.

This paper is from some that Brian gave me for Christmas several years ago. Used my Cuttlebug again on this journaling block - Deco Art maybe (?). And my Create a Critter 2 cartridge for the little lamb.  Great Grandma Darlene knits and crochets a lot so I thought a lamb would be fun on this page.

Nathaniel is a little older in these next 2 layouts...they were a trip we made to Arizona and So. Cal. when he was 10 months old.
The paper is from the same lot Brian gave me for Christmas several eyars ago. The CS is from Costco, button from Walmart and a cute monkey from the CaC2 cartridge. We always call Nathaniel our monkey boy because he loves monkey and he sometimes acts like one :)

This in in San Diego...his first time at the beach. This is fun paper - DCWV maybe. I cut around one of the jelly fish so that it overlapped a picture, used my Cricut for the title (Zoo Day cartridge) and then ran the letters through my Cuttlebug (Tiny Bubbles folder) and then inked them in light blue. The journaling block is CM, the CS is Costco and Bazzill.

Mission Layout

I made time to scrapbook today and did a layout for one of the Storytellers monthly challenges. But after I did that, I decided to this layout from my mission. I had the recipe copied and the picture all in with some paper from months ago.  The CS is Recollections & costco, the alpha letters are MM, the lined journaling paper is CM and the cooking utensils are cut from the Everyday Paper Doll Cricut Cartridge.

Christmas Vinyl Window Art

The closest thing to scrapbooking that I did before Christmas...a vinyl cut with my Cricut for the window in our back door. Both cuts were from the Winter Frolic cartridge...the vinyl is on the outside and then I taped a white paper to back it on the inside. Fun, quick little project :)

MSD 3 and Nurses Day

Well, lots was going on today and I didn't know if I'd get the MSD challenge done or not - it was called Plain Jane and we could only use cardstock (and pictures and adhesive) on the LO.  I used my Once Upon a Princess Cricut cartridge for the title and butterflies and did Grace's 2 month picture from November 2009 in a pretty dress her Grandma Lorrayne made for her.

 Then I pulled out my Everyday Paper Doll cart and made a card for my husband to take to class tomorrow.  He's in nursing school and tomorrow is Nurses Day (this will accompany brownies that I made also).

The Storytellers Club website has hosted a month long crop for - I don't know how long.  I think the first was in 2005 probably.  I've tried to participate every year and some years do better than others.  I always enjoy it and get quite a few pages done.  This year there's some tech issues and the gallery isn't up, so we're uploading our layouts to photobucket and then imbedding them in our posts on each contest/challenge.  I'm also putting mine up here - and whatever else I get done.  The May 1st challenge (that is due today) was called "What Not to Wear" and you were to use, polka dot print paper, striped print paper and two other prints.  That is hard for me to do, since I don't usually mix patterns too much.  I made it work on this layout of Grace - using a polka dot cardstock for the base, a print for the mat and then 2 additional prints for flowers.  I wanted to use some cute white rub-on letters for the title (Miss Grace), but cannot for the life of me find them.  But it works with out a title and if I ever find those letters, I can always go back and add it.

Also, here is the banner I made for Joshua for his birthday - using my Cricut.  The letters & horses are from the Old West cartridge.  The banner shape is from the Lyrical Letters cartridge.  He totally loved it.  Nathaniel wants one. Joshua says his name is too long for me to make a banner.  Nathaniel was heartbroken.  I told him it wasn't too long, I would be able to make one.

first post

I've been scrapbooking for over 6 years now. I started when my oldest was 18 months old and he turns 9 tomorrow. I have a lot of my pages posted at storytellersclub.com. I've been playing with the idea of creating a blog just to post my layouts on and decided to take the plunge. I've been keeping up a family blog (well, sporadically keeping up) for about 4 years now, so blogging isn't new. We'll see how well I can keep up with a second one. I got a Cricut before my daughter was born, about a year and a half ago.  I haven't had a ton of time to use it, but little by little, I'm figuring it out.
Here's some of my favorites from the past year or so...
